PA Turnpike Wetlands Mitigation
Category: Highway/Road Construction
As part of a broader water resource initiative, this project focused on the construction and enhancement of wetland areas to support environmental restoration and ecosystem health. The effort included the creation of 9 acres of new wetlands, achieved by removing nearly 50,000 cubic yards of material and importing 9,000 cubic yards of specialized topsoil to promote proper infiltration and wetland function. Final stages of the project included seeding, soil amendment applications, and the installation of native landscaping specifically selected to thrive in wetland conditions—ensuring long-term sustainability and ecological benefit.
